cleardepth@point6dev.comCommon Questions
How do I request a lake be added?
Email us the lake name and state. ClearDepth covers 219 lakes across the US, and we add more based on user requests. Lakes with a public water-level gauge can show live depth adjustments; lakes without one show estimated depths, clearly labeled in the app.
Why does a hazard's depth say "Est."?
ClearDepth recalculates hazard depths against your lake's current water level. When no public agency or utility publishes live data for a lake, we fall back to its typical pool elevation and label the reading as estimated so you know it isn't live. Tap the badge in the app for details.
How do I report an incorrect or missing hazard?
In the app, open the hazard and use Confirm if it's accurate or Flag for Removal if it's wrong or no longer there. Enough community votes will remove it automatically. You can also edit or delete hazards you created yourself.
How do I turn hazard alerts on or off?
Go to Profile → Notifications. You can toggle proximity alerts, choose your alert distance, and enable or disable background alerts (which warn you even when the app is closed).
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and profile data. Hazard reports you submitted may remain in the community dataset to preserve safety information for other boaters.
How do I report abusive content or another user?
Long-press any chat message, or use the Report action on a hazard, to flag content for review. You can also block a user from their profile. If something needs urgent attention, email us directly.
Delete Your Account
ClearDepth lets you delete your account and its associated data at any time, directly from inside the app.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open ClearDepth and sign in.
- Tap the Profile tab (the person icon in the bottom bar).
- Scroll to the bottom, to the Danger Zone section.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
What gets deleted
Your profile (email address, display name, boat make/model, primary activity, profile photo) and your account credentials are permanently removed from our servers. Your favorite lakes, hazard confirmations, and removal votes tied to your account are also removed.
What is retained
Hazard reports you submitted may remain in the community dataset in anonymized form (no longer linked to your account) so that other boaters continue to be warned about the hazards you helped identify. This is disclosed in the Privacy Policy.
Can't access the app?
If you cannot sign in or the in-app option is not available to you, email us at cleardepth@point6dev.com from the address associated with your account and we will delete the account for you. We aim to complete manual deletion requests within 30 days.
Safety Notice
ClearDepth shows community-reported hazards and is not a navigational chart. Hazard reports are submitted by other boaters and are not verified by any government or surveying authority. Depths are estimates that change with water level, weather, and lake conditions.
Always navigate with appropriate caution, maintain a proper lookout, and rely on official charts and your own judgment on the water.
